BESPOKE BRIDAL DESIGN SERVICE

Sketching

For women who seek an individual style, I create exclusive gowns which to date have been described as original, stunning and distinctive. My focus is to offer a Design Service with  attention to detail, is the perfect fit and finished to  couture quality. However I do not copy other Designers’ gowns as I want yours to be unique.

The Design Process: Gowns and Corsetry

All of my designs are completely unique . We work together and talk about how you see yourself in your dress, your likes and dislikes, colours and detail etc. You may have a design already in mind  or you may want to bring together several ideas into one dress. Alternatively you can give me a few ideas about your  personality and character and leave the rest to me to research and design!

At the same time we will talk about fabrics, trim ideas and styling that are possible and even consider the accessories you may want  to opt for as this so often encapsulates the total Look and reflects the passion behind a bespoke gown.

I have a large range of the finest silks and laces sourced from the very best suppliers in London and other centres in the U.K. I also keep a creative portfolio of photographs to inspire and help you in your choice of gown. We can then have a second meeting to discuss  cost and detail. Essentially having a bespoke gown made to measure isn’t as expensive as one would imagine, it really depends on the fabrics and trims that are selected.

An initial consultation fee of £75 will be required, however this will be deducted from the fee if you decide to choose proceed.

A guide to the Design Service and make process:.

  • Sketch design options following first meeting (this is a two way conversation and further designs and details can be added along the way to achieve a successful outcome and vision

  • Simultaneously a toile is created for the purposes of design, fit and suitability
  • Details are discussed and possible changes are agreed
  • Patternmaking and possibly a 2nd toile fit if necessary
  • The gown is cut in the selected fabrics and a 3rd fitting takes place
  • Embellishment is trialled and discussed if required
  • The design is created in the correct fabrics
  • The garment is taken through the finishing process

How long does the process take?

The minimum length of time  for this design service to create a bespoke gown from the beginning to the finished garment is approximately 12 weeks

Corsetry Specialist

Handmade unique corsets created  to be worn and seen as  ‘Outer Garments’ or for the Boudoir! to enhance the natural shape of the female form, providing elegant  posture & evoking romance, sexuality and beauty…

Available:

  • Waist-trainers
  • Cincers
  • Shapewear
  • Occasion-wear

Based on carefully adapted historical patterns for a more comfortable fit, the average corset is constructed using 3 to 4 layers, a silver or gold plated busk to fasten the front and 18-44 metal spiral bones and is laced through metal eyelets to ensure a perfect fit with  the optional ability to reduce your waistline by unto 4-7 inches!

Contrary to belief, if a corset is properly fitted and made to measure it will support your back, can reduce your waist size and enhance your shape, whatever your size and shape.

What’s the difference between Bespoke and Made to Measure ?

MADE TO MEASURE:

I offer a collection of  Skirt and corset Designs to choose from. These are Made to order and so I can also make them to measure and you can select from a choice of fabrics. This option is quicker and less expensive

You need to send me your measurements or visit me at the studio.

BESPOKE DESIGN:

This is a service where you want to either have something designed for you or you want to change a design that exists or even combine ideas creating a completely unique ensemble.

During this process I will firstly create a toile ( an early replica of your design) following confirmation of the Design. We can meet at my workrooms or arrange a mutual meeting point or you can send your measurements to me. I cannot be held responsible for taking measurements remotely, however will contact you if I spot something that appears to be wrong or confusing.

I understand that not everyone can visit my workroom so either way I can send you a list of measurements to take , which you may ask a friend to help with… I am only a phone call away if you need advice. Likewise if you want to send digital pictures for me to look at, fit etc that’s also helpful.

You will be provided with full instructions, a measure facility and pins. I would expect you to attend or have up to 2 fittings, but be rest assured the real thing is never cut until I  am entirely happy.
